Popham Design says:
architects, designers, clients . . . THANK YOU
for using our TILES in such beautiful and INSPIRING ways
Which is why Persian Glazes is such a fan – and aspires to do the same!
Heath has an iconic mid-century aesthetic. Their tiles have endless creative possibilities, and are a very great inspiration for me. Their amazing book ‘Tile makes the room’ does not sit on my coffee table…
Smink Things – tiles and wallpaper – are the creation of Dutch designer Marianne Smink. Marianne uses the skills and craftmanship of artisanal production methods to produce innovative contemporary designs where the colours and glazes are hand screen printed to produce ‘Perfect Imperfection’. That’s a beautiful way of describing them!
In her Cotswold workshop located in that wonderful Tree House featured on Grand Designs, Noreen Jaafar hand paints highly individual tiles inspired by nature based on an Ancient Persian glaze system. Researched and developed whilst at the Falmouth School of Art, these glazes create uniquely vibrant and glossy colours, which are rarely seen in today’s market place.
To her knowledge she is the only ceramic tile artist in the UK to produce these very specialized glazes – and I am privileged to be able to use them for my own range!
From her website: ‘Lubna Chowdhary transforms spaces using colour. . .(she) aims to create new histories of place by combining contemporary ideas and technology with traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail.’
Truly an inspiration to artists in any medium
I love working with Jaafar Designs to produce this contemporary range of tiles using their unique glazes. It has limitless possibilities for interior and exterior wall art – definitely along the lines of Coletivo Muda, a personal favourite …. And not just for professional designers but all creative people
